Eight unmissable spring 2018 Norfolk dates

Paris in springtime might be lovely but we reckon North Norfolk could give the French capital a run for its money this season. If you’re planning a spring break, there are some great events taking place on the coast so grab the calendar, book a stay at The Lodge to make a weekend of it, and relax, Norfolk style…

• 23-25 March Deepdale Hygge 2018
Relax, unwind and reconnect with nature – Deepdale takes on the Danish sentiment with a weekend of walks, bike rides, paddling and star gazing. Drop by and take life at a gentler pace.

• 29-31 March Burnham Market International Horse Trials
The world’s best equestrian stars are on show at Sussex Farm this weekend – if you have a budding horse rider in the family come along and enjoy the spectacle.

• 25 March – 15 July Damien Hirst, Houghton Hall
Art’s enfant terrible comes to Norfolk with an exhibition of his most renowned sculptures and previously unseen paintings. A chance to see world class art in a stunning setting.

• 20-22 April Just Crafts Fair, Sandringham
Whether you are a keen crafter or just enjoy seeing the creative talents of others, this weekend show is one to explore.

• 6 May Rolls Royce Enthusiast Club, Sandringham
The Sandringham Estate is set to host a series of car enthusiasts this summer, and the season starts with a ride out by the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club on 6 May. The luxury cars will be on display for free at the Visitor Centre.

• 24-27 May Houghton International Horse Trials, Houghton Hall
The second of East Anglia’s Tri-Star Eventing Series takes place at Houghton Hall with fantastic riders alongside some local talent too.

• 24 June Beat The Tide – Hunstanton Beach Run
There’s no shortage of ways to be active on the North Norfolk coast, but if you’re visiting this weekend and love a run, pack your sneakers and join in this event in support of the Stroke Association. The main event starts at the Alive Oasis Leisure Centre and covers 10k with a run along the beach front to Heacham and back, or there’s a shorter 5k fun run too. There’s a drink waiting for you at The Lodge afterwards.
